Speedie was playing for Coventry in my firsat away game
tackled Ray Stewart about neck height, caused my old man to get mental which wasn't the best idea as we were in the main stand not the away end

That was my first away game too. And like you I was in the Milwall bit on the side, mate from school was Milwall and I thought it safer to go in there than make my way round to the away end.

Southend - 1993. It was a midweek during the school holidays.

Packed into the terracing behind the goal, awful game.
We had Colin Foster up front and lost 0-1 (Brett Angell scored the goal)

My dad took me to
Spurs away -April 1969 lost 1-0 to a Greaves goal
Then The Arse at Highbury the following season, lost 3-0 I think

Outside London
Leicester away either 1970 or maybe early 1971
Lost 2-0

Thanks for all the memories Dad.

Re: Rite of Passage - First Away Game
Was Spurs away Xmas 1971 and we mullered them 1 0, brilliant day, was it Clyde best who got the winner?

In fact was a few days before my first home game during same school holidays and we murdered Man U 2 or 3 0

Coincidence that those are our current two games and could have done with a home win like that today

Re: Rite of Passage - First Away Game
My first game was actually an away game against Chelsea, end of the seventies. I don't remember much about the game, my abiding memory is my older brother holding me up so I could see West Ham steaming into the Shed.

Early 70s at Bramall Lane when only had 3 sides to the ground because they played cricket there at the time drew 0-0 with Bobby Ferguson saving 2 penalties I think it was..

I think I went to charlton away in 1989 and it might have been 0-0. I actually don't remember my first away game though, and it really annoys me.

Re: Rite of Passage - First Away Game
I think a midweek game vs Coventry was my first in the late 90s. First one I can properly remember is the 3-2 vs Chelsea when I was sat in with the Chelsea cunts. Never wanted to celebrate more than when Di Canio scored that volley.

WHU 77 - same as me! Stood on the huge uncovered terrace on the side - was more or less no segregation. We lost of course!

Luton, sponsered by wallspan, dump of a ground with an electronic scoreboard, Brooking scored in a 2-3 defeat,. Could only see the other half of the pitch.

Excellent thread this mine was as a 16 year old with Big Neil and the West Side Boys late 70s Forest away drinking Luke warm special brew on the train having a few little skirmishes on the bridge we lost 1-0 and Derek Hales missed a sitter

Our travels seemed to be littered with high lights like these

84/85 season Chelsea.

Fucking mayhem. West Ham in the Shed and the other 2 stands.

That the 0-3 game when Pat Nevin tore us a new one.... got smashed in the face by a steward that day... one of me mates tried to climb up the fence to get on the pitch... slipped and fell face first onto his boat.... nose everywhere... chicken oriental day that was
